Universal Merchant Bank has officially partnered with the GFA as its official bank for the Black Stars and the entire football ecosystem.
In attendance were GFA Vice-President, Mr. Mark Addo, Mr. Frederick Acheampong, Mr. Samuel Aboabiri, and other executive members.
Group Head of Personal and Business Banking at UMB, Madam Asabea Kissi Boateng, explained that the bank decided to partner with the GFA to help Ghanaian players learn how to save after their illustrious football careers.
The partnership is not only for the Black Stars but also for every player in Ghana football.
GFA Vice-President, Mr. Mark Addo, said the entire football association was really excited about this partnership, especially the financial literacy component that forms part of it.

UMB’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Phillip Oti Mensah, reiterated that UMB is one of Ghana’s oldest banks and that their system allows customers to open accounts without initial deposits. He said they aim to be one of the top 5 banks in Ghana by 2030 and take Ghana football along with them. The main purpose of partnering with the GFA is to allow Ghanaians to know the bank and leave an indelible mark in their minds.
